Welcome to the World Food Programme's Food Security Web Atlas. THe goal of the Food Security Atlas is to provide information on the geographical distribution food security and nutrition among the people and regions supported by the World Food Programme.
What is Food Security?
"Food Security exists when all people, at all times, have physical and economic access to sufficient, safe, and nutritions food, and to meet their dietary needs and food preferences for an active and healthy life". World Food Summit Plan of Action (Rome Italy 13 November 1996).
Attaining Food Security is a fundamental aim of good government and is
recognized as a basic human right by governments and civil society.
